Introducing Dark Voodoo Studios
Since the launch of the Kin SDK on Unity, we have been working with beta partners to test out the SDK on Unity and build exciting games to show the world what Kin can do in games. Chase already announced Bigfoot and I am very excited to share that we have been also working with Dark Voodoo Studios.
Who is Dark Voodoo Studios?
Dark Voodoo Studios has been making interactive entertainment products for 15+ years. They have provided high quality art, design and programming to their many clients. Some of the games they have worked on are Mahjong Quest 2, Purr Pals, Sky Master, Sims Online, Roller Coaster Kingdom and YoVille. For the past 5 years they have been providing user experience consultation and prototyping for VR and AR applications. They are also developing their own VR titles for the Oculus Go.

Why Dark Voodoo Studios?
Dark Voodoo Studios participated in the first Kin Developer Program and made their game in Unity without the Kin SDK that is made specifically for Unity. This was a lot of extra work that they took on to join the Kin Ecosystem. With all their experience with the Unity Engine and using Kin in games, it was a natural fit for them to be one of the first to try our Kin SDK for Unity.
When this project kicked off in December, their team exploded with amazing ideas and use cases of Kin in games. We had to slim it down to just one and chose to move forward with Dungeon Party. This was a natural fit as Dungeon Party from its conception was social. The first sentence we saw for it was perfect, “Dungeon Party is a game that promotes social interaction with puzzles and obstacles that require the participation of other players.”
What’s Next?
They are putting the finishing touches on Dungeon Party for Android to release in beta in the next few weeks. Once the Kin SDK for Unity for iOS is up and running they will be working on the iOS version.
