We’re excited to announce that our Python SDK just got a lot more powerful and is now asynchronous! But what does this mean for developers? This means that developers using our Python SDK for their backend server can now handle processing large amounts of transactions with increased scalability. Additional benefits include low cost of hosting due to the efficient nature of asynchronous processing.

Up until now we have been hosting our own service using the Python SDK known as the payment service. All apps from the first Kin Developer Program use this payment service. But in the spirit of becoming more decentralized, everyone using the new native mobile SDKs will be required to host their own payment service. This service will perform actions such as creating accounts, whitelisting transactions and paying “earns” to users. Opening this up to developers allows for increased flexibility and removes any dependency on Kin hosted services.

In addition to our now asynchronous Python SDK we are in the process of creating a dockerized, basic version of the service using this SDK with an out-of-the-box API. This will allow developers to quickly and easily deploy it to a server and get up and running in production in no time.
