Struggling is a sign of growth

Yes, we all struggle, and no, you don’t have to go through it alone.

The struggle is a part of the human experience. That’s how we grow. A butterfly needs to struggle out of its cocoon to spread its wings and fly. Life built this survival mechanism in all of us to help us become stronger and better in order to thrive.

Just because you can’t see someone else’s struggle, it doesn’t mean it’s not there. Some people hide it well or creatively disguise it to go seemingly unnoticed—even by them consciously. Oftentimes, those are the ones who need more support. A simple nudge of kindness and genuine concern for their wellbeing could crumble that facade and help them through it — even if it’s just bringing it to their attention.

If you can see someone struggle, give them that much-needed compassion and understanding as they work through it. Don’t take any of their out-of-character behavior personally. Instead, ask them if there is anything you can do to help. It could be as simple as listening to them vent to release that pent-up mental pressure.

Notice this within yourself as well. Is there anything you’re struggling with — consciously or unconsciously? Ask for help, and trust that whatever it is you’re going through, you can absolutely get through it. Give yourself the…
