This week, Global Citizen, in partnership with Kindred Media, launched a new podcast: Powering the Movement: A Global Citizen Podcast. The podcast kicks-off with a spotlight on five incredible stories of people that are making a difference in their communities around the globe. These five individuals also happen to be the finalist for the Cisco Youth Leadership Award, which will be given out in London at the Global Citizen Prize on December 13th (this special ceremony will be hosted by John Legend and air globally on networks like NBC, Sky One and MTV).

Powering The Movement: A Global Citizen Podcast is now available wherever you get your podcasts.

Kindred Media helped Global Citizen move quickly on this production, which included producers on-the-ground in places like Jakarta, Cameroon, and Islamabad. The stories are from the activists themselves, like Alain Nteff, whose life changed after visiting a longtime friend who was working at a medical facility in a rural part of Cameroon. He learned that this facility had lost 70 premature babies that week alone. To make matters worse, in Cameroon alone, 20 women die from each day from pregnancy-related causes. In West Africa, 225 women die every day while giving birth. These stats are shocking but even more-so, with simple education and prenatal care, many of these deaths can be prevented. Which is how Alain is helping. To hear his amazing story, as well as others, and how you can help, listen to Powering The Movement today.

Kindred Media is thrilled to partner with Global Citizen to help share the stories of people really making a difference, like Alain.

You can listen to all five episodes now on Apple, Spotify, iHeartRadio, TuneIn, Radio Public, Pocket Casts or pretty much wherever you listen to podcasts.
