So far, our Slack community has grown to more than 6,000 people, which is awesome! There has been a lot of active discussions around all things Kin. Post-sale, there’s been discussion internally if Slack is going to be the best product to support this community’s needs, and after a lot of deliberation, we’ve made the decision to migrate from Slack to Telegram.

This was a decision that was made for security reasons. Since we’ve opened our Slack channel, there have been numerous scams, which we’ve been able to identify and remove to the best of our abilities. There are certain scams that use the Slackbot, and after numerous discussions with the Slack team, there is no way that we can remove Slackbot from people’s experience or delete any messages sent by Slackbot, letting the scam to live on in perpetuity.

Therefore, we are moving this community to Telegram. Similar to Slack, there will be multiple channels. We’re starting with: announcements, general, and currency. The same community rules apply:

  • Be nice! Rude behavior will get you banned.
  • Engage in genuine conversations.
  • This is a place for you to talk and learn about Kin.

To join the new channels, please download Telegram from the App Store or Google Play, and create an account. You can also download a desktop plugin from the Chrome Web Store.

We will keep Slack open for two more weeks and will officially shutdown Slack on Monday, October 30, 9:00 a.m. ET.
