Despite the cold weather and strong winds from storm Ciara, we know what season it is: Deadline season!

I know everyone will be wrapped up in assignments that they wish they had started from the get-go. Sacrificing sleep, diet and general well-being to get the best turn-out possible, cramming until the very few minutes of submission summarises the life of a student.

From my experience in this, the craziest time of year, it just doesn’t work effectively! You might feel staying up until sunrise, skipping meals, putting down the irons and putting your faith aside will lead you to victory but just no!

That’s a rookie mistake by all of us students and its time for a change. You need to rest and work the most powerful machine strategically.

So during this stressful time of year, be sure to prioritise your time by taking care of yourself as well as your deadlines, which means getting the right nutrition, going for a walk and working on your spiritual wellbeing.

And what’s wrong with spending time with your friends every now and again? If you really want to make a change and do something that will definitely make you feel good and give your mind a rest, then look out for Student Volunteering Week.

Student Volunteering Week provides you with a great opportunity to meet new people and for you to take part in something rewarding. There are great events in place throughout the week! Why not lend a hand at a food redistribution Hub in Brixton this Friday, walk some dogs with Wimbledon Greyhound centre on Wednesday?

Give back to your community, release some stress and build your university experience. You can sign-up here;

That’s enough from me im sure you’ll smash these deadlines out of the park and remember its not who you are underneath, its what you do that defines you so, get involved and have fun!
