Farewell

To everyone in our Kinsu community,

We’re writing to say farewell.

After an awesome year of fundraising, tech development and community building we are very sad to announce that we are closing the Kinsu app. Our insurance is no longer available to purchase and our coverage for current customers will end at midnight on 30th April 2019 (such a shame that the magic always ends at midnight).

We began with an incredible concept: provide peace of mind to our customers and be a Force For Good in the world. For us, Kinsu was never just an insurance product. We are a community of people who truly believe in being socially conscious and kind. We hope that we’ve made a big impact in changing people’s mind about what it means to have insurance. For us, it’s all about honesty, trust and the contributions of the many acting as a buffer for the few, cushioning the fall for those who suffer a loss.

Insurance is about community and how we can all protect each other.

We reinvigorated a traditional product and so many amazing members of Generation Rent got on board with our modern way of managing insurance. Thank you so much to every policyholder for believing in our ideals.

What have we accomplished?

• We’ve established some beautiful partnerships: our thanks to Impossible, H2, Humankind, Emma and many more
• We’ve gained B Corp status: for recognition of our commitment towards being a force for good
• We’ve donated thousands of pounds to Streetlink: a charity which tackles homelessness

We are very proud of the impact we have made and the people and organisations we’ve reached.

We have always had a brilliant and passionate team of insurance specialists, devs and decorators turning the cogs of the Kinsu machine. We were delighted when our incredible customers got involved in the Kinsu vision by snapping selfies with our tube adverts and referring their friends to join Kinsu. Every kind word on Trust Pilot and social media has helped build our brand. From all of us at Kinsu, both in London and Portugal, we want to say a huge thank you. You are amazing humans.

If you’re a Kinsu member you will have received our official communications, which explains about coverage and data deletion. The Kinsu app will be discontinued on 22nd March so we recommend that delete us from your devices. We won’t forget about you, we promise.
