My take on the book:
Timeless Tales to Ignite Your Mind by Shubha Vilas is a collection of fifty short stories that are typically 3–4 pages long. Each story comes with a life lesson at the end in which the author summarizes the message/conclusion to be drawn from the story. It is remarkable how the author shared a collection of fifty stories each with a different message while ensuring none of them sounded cliched or repetitive.
The stories are a good mix of Akbar-Birbal tales, Vikram-Bethal tales, Tenali Ramakrishna tales, along with many such age-old folk tales, filled with equal doses of wisdom and wit. The stories being short makes them easy to read for kids as well as adults, for beginners and experienced readers.
The stories brought back fond memories from my childhood, of the long-forgotten tales which I read extensively many years back. The author deserves appreciation for compiling a wonderful collection of short stories while keeping the language lucid. I would highly recommend this collection to be read by kids and young adults, as it contains a plethora of good anecdotes and life lessons.
My rating:
5/5.
