Kirkland Capital Group Welcomes Tashi Schmidt as CFO

Tashi Schmidt comes to Kirkland Capital Group with a proven track record of success in leading the financial management and operations of firms with expertise in accounting, auditing, budgeting, and financial reporting. Prior to joining the firm, Tashi was part of the founding leadership team of Tola Capital, a Seattle venture capital fund with $400M of assets under management. Prior to that, Tashi was the Controller for Benchmark Plus, a Tacoma Fund of Hedge Funds.

I worked with Tashi at a large alternative investment fund. During that time, she proved to be adaptive and resourceful in building new platforms, working across accounting and investment departments, all while effectively engaging with a variety of personalities. Her experience as a CFO for a venture fund and then building an accounting and audit business in another country will be invaluable experience for Kirkland Capital Group.

Tashi is a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University and a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Washington. She started her career after college with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Tashi was born and raised in Bhutan where she established the country’s first private qualified accounting and auditing firm with responsibility for auditing large corporations, state-owned enterprises and the central bank. Tashi is fluent in English, Hindi, Nepali and Dzongkha.

I am excited to join Kirkland Capital and work with the well-respected leadership team. I had the opportunity to work closely with Chris at a previous company, and have come to know Brock, Joe, and Travis. Their combination of real estate, finance, investing, lending, and technology experience has created the strong foundation needed for success in delivering value to our investors.

Commercial real estate bridge lending is playing an increasingly important role in this high-growth industry.
