How Kissflow Design Team Embraced Remote Work

Design is a collaborative process. It starts with a briefing from the initiator, brainstorming with the content team, wireframing the UX, designing variations, and implementing pages with the help of developers. Since COVID-19 lockdown we have been working at home.
Here are five things we did to help the workflow smoother.
Solid Workday Plan
As a designer, we need to deliver requirements within the timeline. To ensure timeliness, we have a standup meeting once every 2 days where we talk about updates, deliverables, persisting problems, and plans to achieve our goals.
Brainstorming for Better Solutions
Whenever there is a new design request, we brainstorm with the concerned stakeholders. During the brainstorming session, we discuss everything from expectations and new ideas to design references. And finally, we decide on unanimous solutions.
Collaborative Review Process
Once the design is ready, we organize review meetings via a zoom call. We share the design variations with marketers and have a collaborative discussion.
We have moved completely digital with tools like Slack, Zoom, Google Calendar, and Kissflow. For video calls and chat, we use slack or zoom. We track organized tasks using Kissflow’s project board that belongs to the design team. We are awaiting Kissflow’s own chat options.
Hand Holding Freshers
Amidst such stressful times, in the Work from home scenario, we are hiring people. Freshers start designing on the first day. We help them get started with the help of Kissflow design system. The design system clearly explains how we operate, what our brand guidelines are, style guidelines that need to be followed, and a list of cloud files/folders.
Opportunity to Learn
Our team has planned to learn in the 21 days of lockdown. Everybody has to learn new things related to design and present it once he/she comes to the office after the lockdown.
And, we take breaks at regular intervals and have fun doing remote work.
Stay safe! Stay home!
