I decided to make pizza for my family on one Tuesday night. It was my second time making pizza dough in my entire life! Apparently, I found the secret for the best pizza dough recipe ever! It was so good the family kept eating even after they were full. I had to basically force them to stop eating it so we could have left-overs for the next days. Well, we only had left-overs for the next day even though I had made more than enough pizza.

For you all, I made the recipe smaller so you can enjoy two pizzas with all of your favorite toppings. If you are unsure of the toppings, don’t worry, I also listed some of our favorite toppings below.

Pizza toppings

Meat: Pepperoni, meatballs, Italian sausage, beef, salami, bacon, ham, and chicken

Veggies: Bell peppers (any or all colors), mushroom, onion, black olives, spinach, tomatoes, jalapenos, artichoke hearts, and broccoli

Out of the ordinary toppings: Pineapples, figs, arugula, zucchini, and prosciutto

Cheese: Mozzarella, Parmesan, and really any cheese you like

Pizza crust ingredients:

1 1/4 cup warm water

2 teaspoons sugar

2 1/4 teaspoon yeast

3 1/2 to 4 cups all purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried marjoram

1/3 cup vegetable oil

Directions:

  1. Mix warm water, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and yeast until dissolved. Let stand until yeast proofs about 5 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl mix flour, salt, remainder 1 teaspoon of sugar, and dried herbs. Make a well in the center and add yeast mixture and oil. Mix until smooth soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough adding as little flour as is needed to keep the dough from sticking to your hands. Place the dough ball into a lightly oiled bowl flipping to coat both sides of the dough. Cover with warm wet cloth in a warm area for 30 minutes.
  4. Cut dough in half and roll out into two pizzas. Top with your favorite toppings and sauce. Bake for 20 to 45 minutes depending on how many toppings and how thick you roll the dough.
  5. To make the crust even tastier, mix 4 tablespoons of melted butter with 1/4 teaspoon of each of the dried herbs listed above. Brush over crust and sprinkle with Parmesan.
