“You want spicy, You sure?” This; is spicy!

Som Tam is popular street food in Thailand,
originally a Laos dish, popular in Northern Thailand making
it’s way down to Bangkok along with northern Muay Thai competition fighters, comfort food on the streets after a fight, enjoying a meal with their followers,

Som Tam, salad pounded in a mortar, it’s where it gets its name,
a crispy salad consisting of shredded sour green papaya,
the main ingredient, along with shredded sour green mango.

Cucumber, cherry tomatoes, thinly sliced spring onion, asparagus beans, garlic! Chilli pepper, dried shrimp, fish sauce, lime, Palm sugar, plenty of bird's eye chilies, and freshwater crab added to make this a delicious spicy crispy salad.

Served with sticky rice and grilled chicken, a perfect combination
I promise you will not forget.

Just make sure it’s not been sitting in the sun on a scorching day,
or else you will be sitting on the toilet for most of the next!
An experience you will want to forget.

Yes, it happened to me, two days before I got married! Luckily all was fine on the day in my champagne-colored wedding suit.

Som Tam so loved they made a comedy martial arts movie Somtum,
(Muay Thai Giant) Staring, 6'11. 320lb Nathan Jones, an Australian actor, powerlifting champion, strongman, and WWF world champion wrestler.

Drugged and robbed, Nathan is stranded on the streets of Pattaya.
He is taken in by a young Muay Thai champion girl; is fed
Som Tam where he explodes on chili, destroying the restaurant.

Of course, he has to make up for it with his mighty strength and of course fending of mafia debt collectors.

Hilarious movie! Giant Nathan Jones, small Thai women, laughing at his inability to eat their spicy Som Tam.

Watching it with Thai’s makes it all the funnier, especially when they serve you up an extra spicy plate of Som Tam! No crab, please.
