Sweet Potato & Red Lentil Soup with Coconut and Kale

Halloween is around the corner, but winter has arrived.

I heard it on the forecast earlier in the week; the first real snowfall of the season was on its way, and there would be a lot of it.

Even without the forecast, I could have predicted this first blizzard with amazing accuracy. How? Simple; the girl’s hockey team was booked for a weekend game, 2–1/2 hours north.

The weather always turns to crap on the trips north. So, while the teenagers in the back seat shriek, laugh, and whisper, the parents drive white-knuckled in a caravan of survival.
