Welcome to my new blog space! If you’re looking for academic discussions of the deep issues of the day, you’re at the wrong place.

I started my initial blog on WordPress nearly three years ago. I didn’t know exactly what I was doing then, and I’m still not sure what I’m doing… other than exploring moving it to Medium.

From the time I hit my late teens, my dream was to write… not novels, but mostly poetry and short stories and little thoughts about what was happening in the world around me. I allowed reality and bad choices to steal my dream for a few decades.

Now, while I write the pieces that earn money in the daylight (think proposals, manuals, instructions… the boring things most of us don’t want to admit we need), at moonrise I’m free to explore ideas. I use a number of formats, but my favorites are free-form poetry bordering on prose and short little essays expressing what I’m seeing and thinking.

I didn’t have a clear goal with my initial blog, and I still don’t have a clear goal with this blog. My primary idea is to just prove to conservative, non-mainline Christians that intellectuals can believe and to prove to intellectuals of all faiths that there are Christians out there who don’t just buy any idea in the pulpit or culture but do think things through.

My prior blog has covered everything from life, love, and light to death, abuse, and darkness. I don’t expect to change anything in the way of topics; life has too much to think about and share. If we can’t write it, we can’t talk about it and we can’t make it better.

My goal is one post a week, but I have been prolific enough to manage to post every other day on my initial blog. However, I do flex around a full-time job in the work force, a full-time unpaid job as mother to three wonderful kids with hidden disabilities and a full-time unpaid job as a wife to a much older and wiser man who decided to give me a second chance at all the blessings of a solid marriage partnership.

My initial goals for this blog include:

  • Connecting my WordPress blog to feed this one (I did find some solid instructions)
  • Exporting from my WordPress blog archive to ensure Medium readers can see the history. I’m not sure if everything will come over — sometimes I look at the truth diamond from the wrong angle for too long and blind myself with negativity!
  • Eventually, increasing my readership and maybe selecting just one tool (keeping life stupidly simple is a very good thing).

So, if you like what you see so far, please keep reading. I expect to evolve the look and feel over time. I also look forward to comments and questions.
