Bedded by Beelzebub
And blinded by the dazzling darkness,
I pricked your heart
To keep you from endless sleep.
I didn’t know, couldn’t know
That we teetered on the razor edge
Of an eternal chasm —
Abysmal, murky, chaotic.
Once there
We could never return
Even with all the life and breath
Contained within the vastness of infinite universes.
No condemnation, no sorrow, no forgiveness
Could ever bring us back.
While you fell through
I fell away,
Dancing through the pine of remorse
To laugh and live another day.
Can’t go back, can’t go through, can’t go ahead
All the while praying for one more chance
To dance it with you.
