Brain Frog
Speeding down the highway of life,
Exceeding 275 miles per hour,
Thoughts roll,
Words flow,
It’s all copacetic.
Then, it all stops so suddenly —
A hazy fog descends,
And frogs hop through.
Words are lost,
Stammering lips refuse to obey.
Information refuses to flow.
Time moves in slow mo
As embarrassment creeps in.
Anger grows,
For nothing flows.
Bam!
Salty, edgy toad word
Bursts forth without consent.
Words begin an endless stream,
And normal thought speed resumes once more.
Author’s Note: As I continue to deal with my health issues, I’ve entered a new phase. It’s a lot like what the movie The King’s Speech depicted for King George VI. My hope is that my issues will also resolve over time. Oh, and thanks to the writers of the old series Touched by an Angel for copacetic.
