The earth turns; the sun rises and sets.
Seasons change; plants, grow, fade, and wither.
Swaddled babes become active ladies.

My mind once stalled, overcome by fear,
Shakes off its slumber, spinning too near,
Energized by swelling pride and joy.

Aching soul bathes in balm of job done,
Better than plan, not well, not perfect.
Satisfaction slowly brings delight.

Author’s Note:

A long time ago on another blogging platform, I had connected to an awesome blogger, Ninefold Dragon. He created a style of poetry called ninefold.

The poem has three stanzas. Each stanza has three lines. Each line has nine syllables. The first stanza deals with the physical world and appeals to the five senses. The second stanza deals with the mind, thoughts, and perceptions. The third and final stanza deals with the spiritual; it evokes a strong emotion or paints something in the supernatural realm.
