Lord, you created all things from the sun in the sky to the fish in the sea to the child in a mother’s womb. You breathe life into us. In You, we live and move and have our being.

Even in the womb before birth, you know this child. You know the call you have and the plans you have. You have plans for this child to prosper, to not come to harm. You have given this child a future and a hope.

As you knit this child together in the mother’s womb, you see the baby’s body as it forms, and you have planned and written each and every day of life for this child already in your books. Have grace and favor, mercy and lovingkindness that are new and fresh each and every morning.

Protect the child and mother from all plans of the enemy, to steal, to kill, to destroy. Instead, Lord, lead them to a knowledge of You not filtered through human action and experience. Show them all Your functions and names, including the Good Shepherd, the God Who Sees, the Author of Life, the Provider, Redeemer.

Give them full and abundant life. Bless them and keep them. Make your face shine on them and be gracious to them. Turn your eyes toward them and give them peace.

Author’s Note: God loves when we listen to Him closely enough to tell Him what He told us.
