Restoring Education: Praying Nehemiah 9 (Part 1)

Based loosely on Nehemiah 9: 3 (ESV), 5–6 (TLV), 8 (ESV), 13–15 (ESV), 16–17 (TLV)

May we who teach Your children, those who know You and those who don’t, hunger for Your Word. May we study it, devour it, make it part of our heart, soul, mind, and strength.

May we be in it morning, noon, and night, continually meditating on it. May it help us recognize our brokenness and the resulting sin, and may we confess our sins to you, especially showing favoritism, playing politics, letting our yes and no be anything but yes and no, ignoring bullying, prejudging students’ aptitudes and attitudes, using harsh rebukes.

May we find a reason each day to praise and worship You, even if only for salvation.

Let us rise up before our God and bless Him eternally. Let us bless His glorious Name, the Name above all names, the name of Jesus. Let us exalt and lift His name above all other Names, blessings, and praises.

You alone are Lord God Almighty. You have created everything in space and on earth. You have created us, our administrators, our students, and their families. You breathe life into all of us. All of heaven adores You alone.

Make our hearts faithful to You and to Your Word for Your Word contains all Your Promises. You keep Your promises forever because You are righteous, true, just, and holy.

You give us Your people commandments, laws, and statutes as well as a Sabbath rest. You provide for all our needs according to Your riches in glory. abundant food and water for them in a dead desert, and You give us a place to live. May our memory of these things keep us tender and attentive to Your voice and may we never grow rebellious enough to reject Your Words.

When we fall and fail, help us remember that You are a forgiving, merciful God. You are compassionate and slow to anger. Because You abound in love, You do not reject and abandon us especially when we repent.
