Author’s Note: Yes, this is publishing a few weeks after I penned it. Yes, I should have been paying more attention to the senior pastor. No, I feel no guilt and no shame.

My car may be dead,
My career may be blown away,
But faith in my Lord lives.

My finances may be drying up,
My well may be collapsing,
But trust in my Lord’s love grows.

The economy may be nearing recession,
Opportunities may be declining,
But His love in me is on the rise.

The Middle East may be in a conflagration,
Communist Asia may be rattling sabers,
But in my heart His peace passes all my understanding.

Brokenness careens out of control,
Lies and deceit explode exponentially,
But the Truth of the Word will remain and never change.
