The Stars in Her Sky

She scans the skies
With her starry eyes
Looking for a sign.

The universe begins to sing,
A jubilant chorus begins to ring,
Expanding and filling her mind with ease.

A sigh, a cry, a laugh —
As she yields to the shepherd’s staff
And starts to go down the narrow way.
