Tick, tick, tick
The second hand sweeps away precious time.

Waiting, watching, woe-ing —
Knowing the precious time is wasted
As initial rejection is prepared
And vital records get ignored.

Tock, tock, tock
The minute hand wipes away larger chunks.

Sitting, thinking, regretting —
Having tried to lead to maturity
Leads only to lost time
And futile fears of false results.

Silence
Time marches on.

Sighing, breathing, regrouping —
Legal partnerships forthcoming
To get her the benefits
That I paid for and will never be there for me.
