New Plans, Apple Watches & Android

We’ve been listening to all of your feedback and are excited to announce a series of new plans for those who need more than core Kittyhawk.

Before we dig into that, our free plan will never go away. On the contrary, we continue to build out the core experience and believe that all drone pilots should have free, unlimited access to log as many flights and track as many drones, batteries, locations, and run as many checklists as you want. Our goal at Kittyhawk is to support the biggest and best community of drone pilots, and to do that we will continue to make our web and mobile apps better, more robust, and continue to release new features each and every week.

With that said, many of Kittyhawk’s more advanced and commercial pilots would benefit from some additional tools and features — so today we are releasing three new paid plans:

  • Plus, designed for advanced drone pilots.
  • Commercial, perfect for groups and commercial operations.
  • Enterprise, for elite drone teams and organizations.

Today may be the first day that all Kittyhawk pilots can sign up, but we’ve been testing these plans over the last few months with some Kittyhawk volunteers, and are super thankful for all of the feedback and support during our beta phase 🙏.

Kittyhawk & Apple Watch ⌚️

Preflight has been a huge hit for Kittyhawk pilots. Hyper local weather, real-time space weather, and detailed airspace are all key components to know before you fly, and we are humbled by the response of having this data on your wrist. Within hours of having this go live in the App Store, we were greeted with a barrage of high fives 🙌.

More importantly, we love all of the new ideas that you are coming up with on other ways that the watch can fit into your Kittyhawk routine. Our roadmap is jam packed with cool stuff, but we always love hearing from you. Hit us up any time — team@kittyhawk.io — with ideas, feedback, or questions. It’s these conversations that keep the platform moving forward with speed and purpose.

Coming Soon to Android 🤖

Speaking of feature requests, one of the questions we hear the most is ‘when is Kittyhawk coming to Android’? Well, the time has come!

Kittyhawk will soon be live in the Google Play Store, but for those who can’t wait, we’re starting to invite pilots to our Android beta. If you’re interested in getting an early look and helping us fine tune the app, click here to sign up.

Part 107 Is Finally Here 🚀

For those who missed the big news from the FAA, Part 107 is almost a reality, meaning commercial drone operations will soon be easier and more accessible to all. Here’s the Kittyhawk takeaway on what you need to know.

What You Need To Know about Part 107

On a related note, keep an eye out for v3.2 of the App in the next few days. We’re adding “Visibility” to PREFLIGHT, which is a key component of FAA Part 107.

Happy flying,
