What is Kiuas Team Up?
Kiuas Team Up is a networking event for finding team members and co-founders. We bring together people with ideas and people who want to join a team. Our aim is to speed up the team building process and help you kick-start your journey in entrepreneurship.
Why is Kiuas Team Up different from last year?
The previous Team Up was a three-day event that consisted of team building and idea validation. This year we wanted to separate these two topics into Team Up and Bootcamp, the first one for team building and the second one for idea validation. This way the teams have more time to work together before entering the idea validation stage, and teams outside Team Up can join the idea validation weekend as well.
- Team Up is an evening-long event with a relaxed atmosphere, great food and good company. You can head to the stage at open mic or make an abundance of new contacts via speed dating, or just have a casual chat with like-minded people.
- Bootcamp is a two-day event for teams that need to elevate their ideas with the help of professionals. The event has several workshops with different topics, one-on-one coaching and roundtables for getting feedback from the Kiuas coach pool. The next Kiuas Bootcamp will be organized in fall 2018.
Team Up -events are organized several times a year, so there’s no pressure to form a team the first time you attend!
Why should I join Kiuas Team Up?
If you want to find co-founders or join a team, Team Up is the best way to meet new people. You don’t have to spend time or money in looking for contacts and paying for lunches, we do that for you.
You’ll get to know teams that are looking for team members and you can promote yourself to different teams. If you already have an idea, we will help you find the team members you need to put your idea into action.
Team Up is the first step towards entrepreneurship, and the best thing you will always get from Team Up is valuable contacts!
I don’t have a business idea, can I still join?
Of course! Team Up is about bringing people with ideas together with people who want to join a team. You can join someone with an idea or you can build a team and brainstorm your idea together.
How do I know if my idea is good enough?
There’s no requirements on how far or how good your idea has to be. Most ideas are very early-stage, and later you will have the chance to participate Kiuas Bootcamp with your team and take your idea further.
Is this event just for students of Aalto University?
This event is open to everyone, regardless of your background!
I don’t really have any specific skills, can I still join?
Yes! There’s no limit to how much you can learn when you have a team that supports you. It might be even more important to have good team dynamics than specific skills when running a business.
I’m not really ready to jump into a project right now but would like to attend the event anyway, is that possible?
Absolutely, you can still attend the event and meet new people. You may find these contacts helpful later when you’re ready to kick-start your entrepreneurial journey!
What if I can’t find a team from the event?
That’s fine, just get the most out of the networking! Maybe a new friend you make might lead to something in the future.
