Today, we are very excited to introduce the 17th KLAYswapDrops event to KLAYswap users — Polygon’s “MATIC”
Beyond the meaning of KLAYswap’s advancement into the major multi-chain, this MATIC Air Drop event will serve as a starting point for the combination of AMMs that will play a key role in the two disconnected blockchains in terms of liquidity, and make it possible for users who are divided into different ecosystems to interact.
Starting from this milestone, KLAYswap’s vKSP holder and the core community that will be added from now on will enjoy various financial opportunities and benefits that will arise in Klaytn and Polygon ecosystem.

1. About Polygon and MATIC
Polygon is a side chain based scaling solution for public blockchain. Polygon is a project to develop Plasma, an Ethereum expansion solution, and was recently rebranded as Polygon from Matic. Polygon provides scalability while ensuring a greater user experience in a secure and decentralized manner. You can implement tasks for Ethereum on Kovan Testnet. Polygon plans to provide scalability to existing public blockchains while allowing interoperability for each chain.
MATIC is the primary currency of the Polygon network. The main use case of the MATIC token is to pay transaction fees on the network. Matic is designed as a utility token that acts as payment and payment units between participants interacting within the Polygon ecosystem. Matic side chain enforces agreements using Proof-of-Stake layer, where network users participate as validators and staking MATIC to receive staking rewards. Compute resources are required to perform various functions on the Polygon network such as block validation and proof issuance. MATIC inflation compensates these resource providers to bootstrap security and maintain network integrity.
2. MATIC airdrop period and amount, during KLAYswap Drops
MATIC airdrop will be performed for 5 days, from April 21 to 25. Total amount of 17,713 MATIC will be distributed to KLAYswap Drops, which will be airdropped to vKSP holders. The amount that each receives will be determined by snapshots of vKSP voting power, based on their KSP staking amount. Users can claim MATIC after the snapshot ends (April 25th 9:00 a.m. KST). Additional 17,713 MATICs will be airdropped to the KSP-oMATIC pair from April 25 to May 3 for 8 days.
3. How to participate in Drops
If you are a user who is currently staking KSP, you are automatically eligible for the new project airdrops that Drops offers. Tokens will be airdropped based on the snapshot of the user’s vKSP quantity after KSP staking, and the snapshot will be held once a day at 9:00 am (KST/UTC+9). In order to receive the airdrop, you must have vKSP before the snapshot.
