K-Bridge Assets (e.g. kETH/ kORC/ kUSDT/ kWBTC) are assets dependent on heterogeneous chains that are brought to the Klaytn network and are used as Klaytn Compatible Tokens (KCT).
To acquire K-bridge assets, you must use Orbit Bridge, the only decentralized bridge that currently connects Klaytn to heterogeneous chains. Orbit Bridge is a product that utilizes Orbit Chain’s Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) technology to allow anyone to easily bring ERC-20 standard tokens, including Ethereum, into the Klaytn ecosystem. Currently, Klaytn, Terra, DSRV, and the Node A Team are participating as validators for decentralized Orbit Bridges.

Orbit Bridge is an aggregation of the technology that Orbit Chain has built up. Using this bridge, various assets can flow into the Klaytn ecosystem. In this article, we will learn how the K-bridge assets used in KLAYswap can be acquired through Orbit Bridge.

The correct way to use Orbit Bridge to convert coins between Mainnets
[The content below is based on the Orbit Bridge Guide]
1.Select Coin: Click the ‘Select Coin’ button and choose a coin to convert.
2. Select Coin: After choosing a coin, choose a validator group.
3. Select/ Fill-in Each Category: First, choose the ‘From Chain’ to connect a wallet.
4. Select/ Fill-in Each Category: Select and connect a wallet that corresponds with the ‘From Chain’.
Metamask is chosen when the Ethereum chain is selected
If the FROM CHAIN is Ethereum, Orbit Bridge supports the use of a Metamask wallet. If you do not have Metamask installed, click on the provided link to download it.
5. Select/ Input Each Category: Approve the contract (for Ethereum users)
[Metamask Users] Coin conversion can only proceed after contract approval is completed. (First time only)
Users wanting to convert Ethereum assets must click ‘Approve’ and go through the approval process in the relevant wallet. After this, you will fill-in the remaining inputs and proceed with coin conversion.
*The approval process is a part of the Orbit Bridge coin conversion process.
6. Select/ Fill-in Each Category: Select a ‘To Chain’’ and input the coin amount and recipient address.
Coins accidentally sent to the wrong address may be lost forever.
Please check that you are inputting the correct Recipient Address.
7. Convert Now: Click the ‘Convert Now’ button.
If all the necessary inputs are selected/filled, the ‘Convert Now’ button is activated.
8. Convert Now: After clicking the ‘Convert Now’ button, click the ‘Confirm’ button on the following ‘Confirm your Conversion’ pop-up after reviewing the details.
If the information is different than what you want, click the ‘Cancel’ button to return to the previous page and re-input correct information. If you click ‘Confirm’, the conversion through Orbit Bridge begins.
9. Transfer Complete: After a certain period of time, a ‘Transfer Complete!’ pop-up will appear.
The transaction result is not affected even if the pop-up window is closed. You can check all coin conversion transaction history on the EXPLORER page in Orbit Bridge.
