Today we’d like to share with you a cool event we attended past weekend.
Organized by Jeju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, and hosted by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, Jeju Hackathon took place during Jeju Blockchain Week from October 26th to 28th. (For those of you not familiar with Korean geography, Jeju is a b-e-a-utiful island. A must visit.)
Jason Han, the CEO of Ground X kicked off the hackathon with a keynote speech, and the participating developers and students had a chance to develop dApps by using Aspen, the Klaytn testnet. And some of our Klaytn crew participated as advisors! With the help of Team Klaytn, the developers produced some really exciting Aspen-based blockchain services of much potentiality and usability.
Hoonil, one of our software engineers at Klaytn, who participated as advisor, says it was a truly rewarding experience:
“My job was to help the participants develop Klaytn-based blockchain services with ease. I first distributed the initial setup module that I created — with this, the developers could access via private key or keystore without hassle. They had A LOT of development-related questions, especially with the full node sync issue. I communicated with participants via text messages even after I left Jeju. Overall, the Hackathon was a valuable opportunity for me to truly ponder over developer experience. What can I do further to optimize DX? What kind of additional supplements can I make to Aspen? I was left with critical questions and tasks.”
The winning teams plan to visit Klaytn office soon to present their projects to the entire team Klaytn.
