We were at BUIDL Seoul 2018 last week. Organized by KryptoSeoul, BUIDL is a two-day forum where developers and academics presented and exchanged their ideas on working protocols, products, and research in blockchain technology.
Klaytn participated by sponsoring the Official Speaker Dinner on Thursday the 29th, featuring our software engineer Sam to deliver a presentation on the 30th, and hosting Brunch over Blockchain @ Klaytn on Saturday the 1st.
Jason Han, the CEO of Ground X gave a short speech and proposed a toast at the Official Speaker Dinner — a really great night greeting some of our friends and colleagues, and of course, meeting new blockchain projects.
On Friday the next day, one of our software engineers Sam delivered an insightful presentation on Exploiting Parallelism with Lightweight Threads in Klaytn. In addition to briefly introducing Klaytn’s goal and architecture including the testnet Aspen, he described the concept and benefits of lightweight threads as well as illustrated its usage in the Klaytn implementation. He presented four specific use cases of exploiting lightweight threads: parallelizing compute-intensive tasks, isolating network resources, limiting concurrency with a worker pool, and utilizing fine-grained locking. Sam also showed some early experimental results to demonstrate the effectiveness. And of course, great in-depth questions and discussions among blockchain developers followed up Sam’s presentation. And there were many other substantial presentations and talks filled at BUIDL programs.
Then, Brunch over Blockchain @ Klaytn on Saturday. Great blockchain talks and discussions with our partners and colleagues including Hashed and KryptoSeoul. It was a pretty early Saturday morning, but our office was packed with awesome blockchain developers and entrepreneurs sharing food together. A great way to kick off December.
Klaytn is always working with other partners with a goal to increase the reach of blockchain in market as well as to contribute to the popularization of blockchain. Stay tuned for more great stories coming up soon!
