First of all, we’d like to say how proud we are of the Kleros community and how innovative it has become. We discuss, we challenge and more often than not, a “click” moment is the spark for long and innovative chats. Especially when it comes to Kleros use cases.

There are few things more rewarding than new members joining our Telegram community and contributing valuable knowledge. More often that not, with their very first posts.

We want this communal wisdom to become part of our culture, not only learning from it, but applying it to the Kleros protocol where applicable.

So, what could be more appropriate than leaving this creative opportunity in the hands of the community?

I’m always looking for the creative spark. Always.
Jimmy Page

That all sounds great but what are you getting at here?

Alas! To the explanation…

So, a couple of days ago while questions, answers and general creativity were flying about our channel on the subject of use cases, Clément spawned a graphic example of a viable Kleros use case. His example was indeed,on point.

The Kleros Cryptokitties contest was thus born.

It became a subject of enthusiastic discussion in our Telegram channel and all the conversations surrounding this use case were insightful. From how to give shared custody, to content creation ideas, everyone had something to say.

In case you’re not familiar with the multiple uses of Kleros, think of a blockchain Dispute Resolution Layer that provides secure and affordable arbitration for virtually everything. That’s Kleros.

As many of you have expressed your creative ideas about how to let the world know Kleros’ ability to solve this hypothetical situation, we are excited to announce our “Who Gets the CryptoKitty” Infographic Contest.

The ‘Balance of Custody’ — Kleros Cryptokitty awaits their fate.

How to participate?

  • First, join our Telegram Group. That’s pretty easy and if you haven’t joined already, click the link above and boom, we’re in touch.
  • Then, you will create an infographic that covers the visual and informative standards of that particular asset. Check this resource for more information about infographics.
  • Remember, this kind of creative endeavour is intended to present information as quickly and clearly as possible. Therefore, everyone has to be able to understand “How Kleros could determine “Who gets the Cryptokitty after the divorce”. We appreciate ‘simple’ even with the apparent complexities of block chain tech.

N.B There are several tools to generate infographics. It’s completely up to you which tool you want to use.

Wait, are there any rules?

Well yep, but just a few.

1. Submissions:

Submissions are made via Reddit and Twitter.

Reddit: submit the post on r/kleros and wait for approval. Think of a clear title such as

“David gets the Cryptokitty thanks to Kleros,”

“How Alice used Kleros to get the Cryptokitty.”

Breaking News: Kleros gives Cryptokitty custody to Sam.”

You must mention “Kleros” and “Cryptokitty” in the title.

Twitter: Include your infographic as a picture in your Tweet. You must tag or mention @kleros_io. Use the same format in the title explained above. Use both hashtags: #KlerosUseCase and #cryptokitties. If you get an RT from Kleros official Twitter account, it means your submission was approved. We all love those sweet sweet RT’s.

2. Timing

The sooner you submit your infographic, the more chances you have to be voted, commented, retweeted, or liked.

The vote will be open until Sunday Feb 26, 5 p.m. UTC. The Kleros Team will gather and analyze all metrics on Reddit and Twitter, and announce the winners within the next five days.

For Twitter, we will count interactions only on the approved tweets (RT by Kleros ).

3. Don’ts

Do not post brochures, flyers or posters.

Do not use only text on the infographic.

Do not use Alice and Bob as the subjects of the divorce.

Jurors — What will your infographic suggest?

Who are the judges?

The judges are other projects community members. Not only Cryptokitty community members.

This is your opportunity to show how Kleros works using your creativity. They will judge based on creativity, but if they are not able to understand the use case, you won’t be voted.

The Crypto community is huge. Your message will have a lot of exposure so feel free to unleash those creative juices.

Anyone can vote. Including friends and other community members. Share your creativity with the world.

Cryptokitties for the winner and more.

There’s a prize right?

Oh we got prizes.

Prizes will be awarded in the form of Kleros Points. The points will be redeemable for PNK tokens in a later stage with a ratio of 1 Kleros Point = $1 equivalent of PNK .

  1. First Place: 300 Kleros Points
  2. Second Place: 100 Kleros Points
  3. Third Place: 50 Kleros Points

All other contestants will receive 10 Kleros Points

But it gets better… The WINNER gets the points PLUS a Cryptokitty courtesy of Kleros. Yep, you read that right. An actual Cryptokitty, no joke.

This is an example for inspiration:

Party A and B create a “marriage smart contract”

They put the Cryptokitty in the Marriage Contract

Party A and B eventually split up. (Sadface)

A Dispute for the Cryptokitty is submitted by B, in which Kleros’ jurors can decide to :

  1. Give the kitty to A
  2. Give the kitty to B
  3. A̶b̶a̶n̶d̶o̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶K̶i̶t̶t̶y̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶r̶a̶i̶n̶.
  4. Grant shared custody. The kitty will not be transferable without the agreement of both parties. Each party can use the kitty every other week.

By Smashicons from flaticon.com
  • If you need a high-quality Kleros logo, just ask. We will provide you with the official logo.
  • A standard Infographic image would be around 1000px wide and at least 3000px long. 800px by 2000px is always a good choice. Just think of a reasonably long size to fit and all will be well.
  • Images are usually in .jpeg format.
  • You may use free online tools like Canva, Piktochart, Easel.ly and Infogram
  • Watch some youtube videos on how to make infographics

If you’ve read this far, high five. If on the other hand, you still have some questions, just pass by our Telegram to get answers. I’m nearly always around (who sleeps in crypto?) and my excellent team lead Tete Vidal is there when I’m not.

Are you r-ready?

GO!

Kleros is a blockchain Dispute Resolution Layer for virtually everything. It relies on game theoretic incentives for jurors to rule cases correctly. The result is a dispute resolution system that renders ultimate judgements enforced by smart contracts in a decentralized way.
