The Charlotte Knights will celebrate their 30th season in franchise history in 2017. There is a commemorative logo (below) and many celebrations planned for the upcoming campaign.

After launching this 30th season logo a few weeks back, I have received some inquiries from fans about the history of the Knights and the history of baseball in Charlotte. With that, I thought it would be important to define some of that history over a few blog posts to give fans an idea of exactly what we will be celebrating in 2017.

As you know, the 2017 season will be the team’s fourth in Uptown Charlotte at BB&T Ballpark. The first three seasons in Uptown Charlotte have seen the Knights lead Minor League Baseball in attendance.

Over those past three years, the Knights have celebrated history of baseball in Charlotte with Charlotte Hornets and Charlotte O’s reunions. That will not change. Each of those two franchises will once again be celebrated in 2017.

Much like in 2013 when the Knights celebrated Knights Stadium during their final year in Fort Mill, the Knights franchise will once again be celebrated throughout the 2017 season. Fans can expect to see former Knights players and Knights teams honored. So stay tuned, because the 2017 season will have more history than ever before.

Tradition Never Ends!
