Burr Among 21 Non-Roster Invitees to White Sox Camp
Recently, the Chicago White Sox announced their list of non-roster invitees to Spring Training. Overall, a total of 21 players received an invite. You can view the full list here: WHITE SOX INVITE 21 TO SPRING TRAINING
One of those players was RHP Ryan Burr, who appeared in seven games with the Knights in 2018. That season, Burr posted a 0–1 record with a 1.08 ERA (8.1 innings pitched) with the Knights. He finished two of his eight games and posted eight strikeouts over that span.
WITH THE WHITE SOX
Burr made his major league debut with the White Sox on August 23, 2018 and appeared in eight games with the South Siders (7.45 ERA over 9.2 innings pitched) that year. A year later, he appeared in 16 games with the White Sox before undergoing Tommy John surgery in June (2019).
Overall, Burr has appeared in 24 games (29.1 innings pitched) at the major league level and is 1–1 with a 5.52 ERA over that span.
2020 TO PRESENT
Burr, 26, spent 2020 at Chicago’s alternate site as he continued to rehab from Tommy John surgery. Now, the native of Highlands Ranch, CO, will be in major league camp with the White Sox.
HOW ACQUIRED
Burr was acquired by the White Sox on August 11, 2017 in a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
