The 2017 Major League Baseball Postseason has been exciting so far — and the best is still yet to come.

Starting tonight (October 13th), the American League Championship Series will get underway with the New York Yankees facing the Houston Astros in Houston, TX.

On Saturday (October 14th), the National League Championship Series will get underway with the Chicago Cubs facing the Los Angeles Dodgers in Los Angeles, CA. Two quality matchups are on tap for fans!

Here is a list of former Charlotte Knights taking part in these games:

New York Yankees

Alan Cockrell — Hitting Coach
Cockrell spent the 1993 season with the Charlotte Knights. Cockrell appeared in 96 games that season with the Knights and posted a .276 batting average with eight home runs and 39 RBIs. More on Cockrell in my previous Knight Fever blog here: http://bit.ly/Knights_Cockrell

Tommy Kahnle — Right-Handed Pitcher
Kahnle appeared in 23 games with the Charlotte Knights in 2016 and posted a 1–1 record with a 3.00 ERA (27.0 IP, 36 SO). He began the 2017 season with the Knights, but did not appear in a game. On April 6th, Kahnle became the first player promoted to the Chicago White Sox this season. He never made it back to the Queen City in 2017.

Originally drafted by the New York Yankees in the fifth round of the June 2010 First Year Player Draft, Kahnle found himself back in the organization this year after the Chicago White Sox traded him along with Todd Frazier and David Robertson for minor leaguers Blake Rutherford, Tito Polo, Ian Clarkin, and veteran RHP Tyler Clippard on July 19, 2017.
