Earlier today, the Chicago White Sox made 12 roster moves as the team whittles down the Spring Training roster ahead of Opening Day on March 28.

Here’s the official White Sox press release:

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Prior to today’s spring training game at Cleveland, the Chicago White Sox made the following 12 roster moves:

  • Optioned to Class AAA Charlotte (4): OF Oscar Colás, RHP Davis Martin, LHP Sammy Peralta and INF José Rodríguez;
  • Optioned to Class AA Birmingham (2): RHP Josimar Cousin and LHP Jake Eder;
  • Reassigned to minor-league camp (6): LHP Ky Bush, LHP Fraser Ellard, C Adam Hackenberg, RHP Edgar Navarro, C Edgar Quero and RHP Lane Ramsey.

With the moves, the White Sox have 58 players remaining in camp: 30 pitchers, five catchers, 12 infielders and 11 outfielders.

All four of the players optioned to the Charlotte Knights today spent time with the team last season.

Oscar Colás hit .272 with nine home runs and 29 RBI last season in 54 games with the Knights, while José Rodríguez hit .253 in 19 games with three home runs and eight RBI.
