The Charlotte Knights and their mascot, Homer The Dragon, spent Friday, November 16th delivering 150 turkeys around the Charlotte area to non-profits. The event — Homer’s 5th Annual Turkey Drive — took place just in time to help out those in need before Thanksgiving.

In all, the annual Turkey Drive stopped at seven area locations and distributed turkeys, stuffing, gravy, pans, and more. The team also stopped at Dilworth Neighborhood Grille at 12:00 p.m. to help with the Charlotte Coat Drive presented by Charlotte Mechanical to benefit The Salvation Army.

The seven locations that Homer and the team’s front office staff visited on Friday were:

The Harvest Center of Charlotte (10:00 AM)
2225 Freedom Dr.

Urban Ministry Center (10:30 AM)
954 N. College St.

Salvation Army — Center for Hope (11:00 AM)
534 Spratt St.

Police and Fire Training Academy (11:30 AM)
1770 Shopton Dr.

Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte
(1:15 PM)
1613 E. Morehead St.

Hospitality House of Charlotte (1:45 PM)
1400 Scott Ave.

Men’s Shelter of Charlotte (2:15 PM)
1210 N. Tryon St.

The Charlotte Knights would like to thank Professional Sports Catering, Prestige Farms, and U.S. Foods for sponsoring this great event.

Happy Thanksgiving!
