KNIGHT LIGHTS: The Charlotte Knights (40–64) will conclude the six-game series against the Gwinnet Stripers (49–55) tonight and play game six. First pitch is set for 5:05 p.m. from Truist Field — the home of the Knights since 2014.

WINNING WAYS: The Knights enter tonight’s finale against the Gwinnett Stripers having won six of the team’s last seven games. With another win last night, the Knights have won four-straight games, which is the longest streak of the season.

FOUR-GAME WINNING STREAK: The last time the Knights won four consecutive games was back in 2021 — May 13-May 16 against the Norfolk Tides from Truist Field.

LAST FIVE-GAME WIN STREAK: If the Knights win tonight, the team will win five consecutive games for the first time since 2019. The Knights won six-straight games from August 18, 2019 to August 24, 2019.

ABOUT LAST KNIGHT: OF Mark Payton and INF Jake Burger each blasted home runs to power the red-hot Charlotte Knights past the Gwinnett Stripers on Saturday night by a score of 9–3 in game five of the six-game series from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. The win was Charlotte’s fourth straight and sixth over the team’s last seven games.

SOSA PROMOTED: Infielder Lenyn Sosa was recalled by the Chicago White Sox today. Sosa, 22, has appeared in 23 games with the Knights this season and posted a .275 batting average (25-for-91) with 10 runs scored, six doubles, two home runs, 10 RBIs and two stolen bases. He was optioned to Charlotte from the Chicago White Sox on June 28. Sosa began the 2022 campaign with Double-A Birmingham and hit .331 (85-for-257) with 47 runs scored, 10 doubles, two triples, 14 home runs and 48 RBIs over 62 games. He had his contract selected by the White Sox from Birmingham on June 23. He went 1-for-12 (.083) during a four-game stint with the White Sox from June 23–27. He entered the 2022 season ranked by Baseball America as the number 17 prospect in the White Sox system.

TO-KNIGHT’S STARTING PITCHER: RHP Tobias Myers (1–9, 6.00), who was acquired off waivers from the San Francisco Giants by the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday, August 2, was added to Charlotte’s active roster on Wednesday. Tonight, he will make his Charlotte debut.

THIS SEASON
: RHP Tobias Myers, 24, began the season with Triple-A Columbus and posted a 1–9 record with a 6.00 ERA in 16 games (15 starts) over 60.0 innings pitched. He was designated for assignment by Cleveland on July 2 and traded to San Francisco on July 7. In two games (one start) with Triple-A Sacramento, he went 0–0 with a 9.00 ERA (3.0 innings pitched). He was designated for assignment by San Francisco on July 31. Myers was originally drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the sixth round of the 2016 MLB June Amateur Draft.

BANKS OPTIONED: Additionally, LHP Tanner Banks was optioned to the Charlotte Knights (Report TBD). In one start this season with the Knights, Banks is 0–1 with a 4.50 ERA (2.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 SO). In 29 appearances with the White Sox this season, Banks, 30, posted a 1–0 record with a 3.16 ERA (42.2 IP). He made his major-league debut on April 10, 2022 with the White Sox. He spent the entire 2021 season with the Charlotte Knights and posted a 3–3 record with a 4.53 ERA in 25 games (five starts) over 59.2 innings pitched.
