KNIGHT LIGHTS: The Charlotte Knights (26–44, 6th) will open a seven-game, six-day homestand against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (38–32) tonight at 7:04 p.m. from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. So far this season, the Knights are 7–4 in 11 games against the Jumbo Shrimp. The two teams will make up the June 20th rainout from Truist Field this week with a doubleheader on Thursday, July 29.

THE LAST KNIGHTS GAME: OF Micker Adolfo launched two home runs, but the Charlotte Knights dropped the finale of the six-game series against the Durham Bulls from Durham Bulls Athletic Park by a score of 15–9 on Sunday. Charlotte’s offense pounded out a total of five home runs on Sunday despite the game six loss to the Bulls. Adolfo hit his first two career Triple-A home runs in the game. In all, Adolfo went 3-for-5 with three runs scored, two home runs and five RBIs. He upped his batting average to .333 since joining the Knights from Double-A Birmingham on Wednesday.

HOME RUN KNIGHTS: Along with Adolfo’s two home runs on Sunday, C/DH Yermín Mercedes hit his sixth home run of the season in the top of the third inning. Two innings later, OF Blake Rutherford and OF Nick Williams also hit home runs. Rutherford had two hits on the day including his fifth home run of the season. Williams also had two hits and a home run, his fourth of the season.

ROBERT JOINS KNIGHTS: Chicago White Sox OF Luis Robert will continue his Major League Rehab Assignment and officially join the Charlotte Knights starting with tonight’s opener against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp from Truist Field. First pitch is set for 7:04 p.m. from Uptown Charlotte. Robert began his rehab stint with High-A Winston-Salem on Wednesday, July 21 and appeared in four games with the Dash.

The Cuban native hit .250 (3-for-12) with one run scored, one double and three RBIs. He is hitting .316 (30-for-95) with 11 runs scored, nine doubles, one triple, one home run, eight RBIs and four stolen bases in 25 games this season with the White Sox. The 23-year-old is currently on the Chicago White Sox 60-day Injured List with a right hip flexor strain. He won an American League Gold Glove Award during his rookie campaign in 2020.

LAMB REHABBING: Chicago White Sox OF Jake Lamb will continue his MLB Rehab Assignments. In eight games on rehab, Lamb is hitting .188 (6-for-32) with two home runs and three RBIs. He was placed on Chicago’s 10-day Injured List on June 29 with a strained right quadriceps.

THE YERMINATOR
: C/DH Yermín Mercedes launched his sixth home run of the season with the Knights on Sunday. In 18 games with the Knights this season since being optioned from Chicago, Mercedes is hitting .329 (23-for-70) with 14 runs scored, five doubles, one triple, six home runs and 12 RBIs. He has hit safely in 15 of his 18 games this season with the Knights.

HOME RUN LEADER
: OF Mikie Mahtook is Charlotte’s leader in home runs (14) and is tied for seventh in the Triple-A East in that category. Mahtook is also fifth on the Knights in RBIs (30) and tied for third on the team in runs scored (30).

TOKNIGHTS STARTING PITCHER: RHP Alex McRae (2–5, 5.40) will make his ninth start of the season tonight and 16th overall appearance with the Knights this season. McRae, 28, has also made two appearances this season with the Chicago White Sox and is 0–0 with a 4.50 ERA (2.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 SO).

FROM THE SOUTH TO THE SOUTH SIDE: The Knights have sent 13 players to the Chicago White Sox. Those players in order are: INF Danny Mendick (May 4), RHP Alex McRae (May 14), RHP Ryan Burr (May 27), RHP Zack Burdi (May 29 & June 17 ), RHP Jimmy Lambert (May 31 & June 27), 1B/OF Gavin Sheets (June 3 & June 29), OF Brian Goodwin (June 10), OF Luis González (June 22), LHP Jace Fry (June 30), INF Jake Burger (July 2) and C Seby Zavala (July 6), RHP Reynaldo López (July 16) and RHP Matt Foster (July 19).
