KNIGHT LIGHTS: The Charlotte Knights (26–46, 7th) will continue a seven-game, six-day homestand against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (40–32, 3rd) tonight with a doubleheader starting at 5:05 p.m.from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. The Knights are 7–6 in 13 games against the Jumbo Shrimp.

ABOUT LAST KNIGHT: The Charlotte Knights dropped game two of the six-day, seven-game series against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp by a score of 2–1 on Wednesday night from Truist Field. Charlotte’s lone run of the game came in the bottom of the seventh inning thanks to an RBI single by catcher Nate Nolan, which tied the game at 1–1. The ‘Shrimp then took the lead in the top of the ninth inning on a Tristan Pompey RBI triple off reliever Matt Foster (0–1, 2.08). Foster allowed the go-ahead run and was charged with the loss.

BURGER BOMBS: INF Jake Burger, who was optioned to the Knights from the Chicago White Sox on Monday, went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in the top of the fourth inning on Tuesday, his first game back with the Knights. The home run was his 11th of the season with the Knights. The 25-year-old hit .263 with a home run and three RBIs with the White Sox in 15 games before being optioned.

ROBERT RETURNS: Chicago White Sox OF Luis Robert joined the Charlotte Knights on MLB Rehab on Tuesday and went 0-for-2 with a walk and a hit-by-pitch. Robert added two hits in last night’s game. He began his rehab stint with High-A Winston-Salem on Wednesday, July 21 and appeared in four games with the Dash. The Cuban native hit .250 (3-for-12) with one run scored, one double and three RBIs. He is hitting .316 (30-for-95) with 11 runs scored, nine doubles, one triple, one home run, eight RBIs and four stolen bases in 25 games this season with the White Sox. The 23-year-old is currently on the Chicago White Sox 60-day Injured List with a right hip flexor strain. He won an American League Gold Glove Award during his rookie campaign in 2020.

LAMB REHABBING: Chicago White Sox OF Jake Lamb will continue his MLB Rehab Assignments. In nine games on rehab, Lamb is hitting .200 (8-for-40) with two home runs and three RBIs. He was placed on Chicago’s 10-day Injured List on June 29 with a strained right quadriceps.

HOME RUN LEADER
: OF Mikie Mahtook is Charlotte’s leader in home runs (14) and is tied for eighth in the Triple-A East in that category. Mahtook is also fifth on the Knights in RBIs (30) and tied for third on the team in runs scored (30).

THE WRIGHT STUFF: RHP Mike Wright (6–3, 3.09), the Triple-A East Pitcher of the Month for June, is currently among the Top 10 Triple-A East leaders in a number of categories. His 3.09 ERA is second in the Triple-A East. He is also eighth in strikeouts (73), tied for fifth in wins (6), second in batting average against (.189), second in WHIP (1.00), first in IP (78.2) and tied for sixth in win percentage (.667).

GAME ONE STARTER: LHP Tanner Banks (3–2, 3.98) will make his third start of the season today and appear in his 15th overall game. He made his first start of the season on July 18 against Gwinnett and allowed three runs on five hits over 2.2 innings pitched. He was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 18th round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft.

GAME TWO STARTER: LHP John Parke was promoted to the Charlotte Knights today from Double-A Birmingham and will start game two of today’s doubleheader against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. Parke, 26, has appeared in 14 games with the Barons this season (12 starts) and owns a 3–4 record with a 4.66 ERA in 58.0 innings pitched. A native of Greenville, SC, Parke was originally drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 21st round of the June 2017 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of South Carolina.
