Spring Training Pre-Game — February 26
Today is exactly one month away from the Chicago White Sox making the trek to Uptown Charlotte to face the Charlotte Knights at BB&T Ballpark. Ironically, I’m in Glendale, AZ this week for White Sox Spring Training.
Today is the first full game I am attending, and the weather couldn’t be nicer. 65 degrees at game time. It’s perfect weather for some baseball.
Before the game, I caught up with 2017 Charlotte Knights coaches, Anthony Santiago, and Garey Ingram.
Santiago, who is the Chicago White Sox Latin/Cultural Development Coordinator, spent time with Charlotte last season while Yoan Moncada was with the team. He was a huge help to me with interviews and I don’t know if I can ever thank him enough for all he did. Santiago will not begin the 2018 season with Charlotte, but Ingram is returning.
Ingram, who is Charlotte’s assistant coach, will be back for his second full season with the Knights in 2018.
Earlier this offseason, I caught up with Ingram during my co-hosting duties with Jeff Schaefer on the Schaefer Baseball Report. That was a lot of fun!
