Remillard Off to Hot Start in 2022

The Charlotte Knights wrapped up a six-game homestand on Sunday, May 1 with an impressive come-from-behind win. The Knights earned a 5–4 walk-off win over the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp to earn a series split, 3–3.

One of the offensives stars of the homestand was infielder Zach Remillard. Remillard appeared in all six games on the homestand and led the Knights with an stunning .450 batting average. He went 9-for-20 at the plate with six runs scored, two doubles, one home run and seven RBIs.

For the season, Remillard is hitting .318 (21-for-66) with 18 runs scored, five doubles, one home run, 12 RBIs and three stolen bases. His 18 runs scored are tied for seventh-best in the IL so far this season.

Originally drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 10th round of the 2016 MLB June Amateur Draft, Remillard worked his way through the organization and earned a promotion to the Knights on May 19, 2021.

Appearing in 82 games with the Knights last season, the Coastal Carolina University product launched 12 home runs — good for the third-best mark on the team behind Mikie Mahtook (26) and Jake Burger (18). He also had success on the base paths and led the Knights in stolen bases with 10. Additionally, he finished third on the club in walks (27) and tied for fourth in runs scored (40).
