LHP Héctor Santiago had contract purchased by Chicago White Sox

Notes: LHP Héctor Santiago had his contract purchased by the Chicago White Sox today. With the Knights this season, Santiago posted a 1–4 record with a 5.84 ERA in seven starts (37.0 IP). Santiago was signed by the White Sox and added to Charlotte’s roster on June 24. He began this season in the New York Mets organization and posted a 1–0 record with a 6.75 ERA in eight games (8.0 IP) with the team after going 3–1 with a 3.35 ERA in eight games (43.0 IP) with the Syracuse Mets (Triple-A).
Santiago, 31, was originally drafted by the White Sox in the 30th round of the 2006 MLB June Amateur Draft. He made his major league debut with the White Sox on July 6, 2011 and has appeared in parts of nine seasons in the majors from 2011–2019. Santiago was an American League All-Star in 2015.
C Seby Zavala, who was optioned to the Knights after Chicago’s game on Monday, August 5, was added to Charlotte’s active roster today. Zavala, 25, has appeared in 61 games with the Knights this season and is hitting .218 (50-for-229) with 40 runs scored, 16 home runs, and 36 RBIs. Zavala has appeared in five games with the White Sox this season (two stints). He is 1-for-12 at the plate with a run scored.
