Notes: RHP Dylan Covey, who was optioned to the Charlotte Knights from the Chicago White Sox after the team’s game against the Minnesota Twins on Sunday, July 28, was added to Charlotte’s active roster today. With the Knights, Covey, 27, has posted a 0–0 mark with a 1.85 ERA in eight games (six starts) over 24.1 innings pitched. He went 1–7 with a 6.99 ERA in 14 appearances (10 starts) with the White Sox this season (47.2 innings pitched).
OF Ryan Cordell, who was optioned to the Knights on Tuesday, July 30, was added to the team’s active roster today. He has appeared in seven games with the Knights this season and is hitting .323 (10-for-31) with six runs scored, one double, one triple, one home run, and six RBIs. He hit-for-the-cycle on April 10, 2019 at BB&T Ballpark.
OF Jacob Scavuzzo was released by the Chicago White Sox organization today. Scavuzzo hit .224 (17-for-76) with nine runs scored, four doubles, one triple, one home run, three RBIs, and one stolen base in 23 games with the Knights this season. He was signed by the Chicago White Sox as a free agent and assigned to the Charlotte Knights on June 19, 2019.
