Notes: The Chicago White Sox optioned C Seby Zavala to the Charlotte Knights after their game on May 31. Zavala returns to Charlotte’s active roster today. He has appeared in 21 games this season with the Knights and is hitting .218 (19-for-87) with 16 runs scored, seven doubles, six home runs, and 18 RBIs. Zavala recorded his first career major league hit on May 31. He went 1-for-9 at the plate with the White Sox in three games.
Catcher Alfredo González has appeared in 12 games with the Knights this season and compiled a .190 batting average (8-for-42) with two runs scored, one double, one home run and five RBIs. The 26-year-old is hitting .387 (12-for-31) with seven runs scored, four doubles, and five RBIs with Double-A Birmingham this season (11 games).
