OF Jon Jay completes MLB Rehab Assignment, returned to Chicago White Sox (activated off 60-Day Injured List)

Notes: LHP Héctor Santiago was recently signed by the Chicago White Sox organization and was officially added to Charlotte’s active roster today. The Knights will open up a two-game series against the Durham Bulls from Durham, NC tonight. Santiago, 31, is expected to start Tuesday’s game against the Bulls.

Santiago was originally drafted by the White Sox in the 30th round of the 2006 MLB June Amateur Draft. He made his major league debut with the White Sox on July 6, 2011 and has appeared in parts of nine seasons in the majors from 2011–2019. He began this season in the New York Mets organization and posted a 1–0 record with a 6.75 ERA in eight games (8.0 IP) with the team after going 3–1 with a 3.35 ERA in eight games (43.0 IP) with the Syracuse Mets (Triple-A). Santiago was an American League All-Star in 2015.

OF Jon Jay, who signed with the Chicago White Sox as a free agent on January 10, 2019, completed his Major League Baseball Rehab Assignment today and was activated from the 60-day Injured List by the White Sox. He hit .358 (19-for-53) with eight runs scored, two doubles, six RBIs, and one stolen base in 13 games with the Knights.
