Among the nine announced roster moves, OF Blake Rutherford was optioned to the Charlotte Knights. Rutherford enters the 2022 season ranked 21st in the Chicago White Sox system by Baseball America.
The 24-year-old led led the Knights in doubles with 30 last season and finished third overall in the Triple-A East in that category. He was also the team leader in hits with 112 and he finished 10th in the Triple-A East in that category. Overall, he hit .250 with 11 home runs and 54 RBIs.
He was originally selected by the New York Yankees in the first round of the June 2016 First-Year Player Draft. He was acquired by the Chicago White Sox in a trade with the Yankees on July 18, 2017.
