Let’s take a look back at some of the former Charlotte Knights in action on Monday, March 8, 2021 in Spring Training games…

KYLE KUBAT — Making his second appearance this spring out of Chicago’s bullpen, Kubat came on in the first inning of Monday’s game and got the final two outs in the inning. He retired both batters he faced after Mike Wright started and gave up three innings to start the inning. Kubat has not allowed a run in two appearances this spring (1.2 IP).

In 2019, Kubat made 12 starts with the Knights and posted a 5–3 record with a 5.63 ERA (56.0 IP). He began the 2019 season with High-A Winston-Salem and posted a 2–0 record with a 1.23 ERA in four starts (22.0 IP). He was promoted to Double-A Birmingham on April 30 (2019) and went 4–2 with a 2.42 ERA and one complete game in eight starts with the Barons that year.

RYAN BURR — For the second consecutive appearance, Burr did not allow a run on Monday over an inning of work. After allowing three runs in an inning on March 1st — his first appearance of the spring — Burr has not allowed a run in two innings. He has five strikeouts over three innings of work.

AVISAÍL GARCÍA —The former Knights and Chicago White Sox slugger went 3-for-3 at the plate on Monday with two RBIs. He’s hitting .545 (6-for-11) with a home run and three RBIs in five games this spring with the Milwaukee Brewers.
