In one of the first moves of the 2023 spring season for the Chicago White Sox, the team optioned RHP Jonathan Stiever to the Charlotte Knights on March 5.

Stiever, who is currently ranked as the #23 prospect in the Chicago White Sox system, as rated by MLB Pipeline, missed most of the 2022 season. He underwent season-ending surgery on his right lat on 8/23/21.

Stiever made it back before the end of the 2022 season and began a Major League Baseball Rehab Assignment with the Charlotte Knights on September 21. In a start that night against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, Stiever tossed a scorleess inning for the Knights. He went on to make two more appearances (one more start) before the end of the season, and did not allow a hit or a run in three innings of work.
