Before he was making headlines in the Chicago White Sox organization — and impressing fans in Charlotte with the Knights in 2019 — Nick Madrigal showed off his skills with USA Baseball in 2017.

Madrigal had two hits — including a solo home run — to help lead the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team to a 5–0 win over the Cuban National Team on July 4, 2017 at BB&T Ballpark (now Truist Field).

In the three-run, third inning, Madrigal launched the first pitch he saw for a solo home run.

In 2018, Madrigal was drafted by the the White Sox in the 1st round (4th) of the 2018 MLB June Amateur Draft from Oregon State University.

Last season, Madrigal hit .331 (39-for-118) with 26 runs scored, six doubles, one triple, one home run, 12 RBIs, and four stolen bases in 29 games with the Knights.
