On January 22, 2018, the Chicago White Sox announced their list of non-roster invitees to Spring Training. The full list is highlighted in the photo above.

Overall, this list consists of 22 players, including a total of eight who spent time with the Charlotte Knights in 2017.

Those eight players are:

Chris Beck — RHP
Brian Clark — LHP
Tyler Danish — RHP
Michael Kopech — RHP
Jacob May — OF
Chris Volstad — RHP
Connor Walsh — RHP
Michael Ynoa — RHP

RHP Tyler Danish started 25 games for the Knights in 2017. (Photo credit: Laura Wolff/Charlotte Knights).

Along with the eight notable players who spent time in Charlotte a season ago, the list also consists of six players who were signed to minor league contracts.

Of the six players, four are new to the organization. Here are those four newcomers:

Rob Scahill — RHP
T.J. House — LHP
Patrick Leonard — INF
Matt Skole — INF

Right-handed pitchers Chris Volstad and Michael Ynoa, who both spent time with the Knights last season, were the other two players who were signed.

Chris Volstad has started 45 games for Charlotte over the last two seasons. (Photo credit: Laura Wolff/Charlotte Knights).

This list of 22 players is a solid mix of top young prospects and veterans. Over the course of this week, I’ll highlight each list (the eight 2017 Knights players and the list of four newcomers).

Stay tuned…
