Earlier today, the Chicago White Sox announced this year’s non-roster invitees to Spring Training. The list consists of 19 players, with seven of the players having spent some time with the Charlotte Knights in 2021.

RIGHT-HANDED PITCHERS
RHP Kyle Crick was one of the seven free agent signings by the White Sox to earn an invite to Spring Training. He is the only one to have time with the Knights as he appeared in eight games with the team last season. During his short stint with Charlotte, Crick was sharp. He went 2–0 with a 0.87 ERA in eight games (10.0 IP/15 SO).

RHP Tyler Johnson appeared in 13 games with the Knights last season and went 0–1 with a 12.41 ERA over 12.1 innings pitched (15 strikeouts). A product of the University of South Carolina, Johnson entered the 2021 season ranked as the number 25 prospect in the White Sox system by MLB.com. Johnson underwent surgery in July.

RHP Kade McClure entered the 2021 season ranked by Baseball America as the number 18 prospect in the White Sox system. McClure, 26, made nine starts with the Knights last year and went 2–3 with a 6.81 ERA (37.0 IP/36 SO). He began the year with Double-A Birmingham and went 2–4 with a 3.82 ERA in 15 starts (68.1 IP/77 SO).

LEFT-HANDED PITCHERS
LHP Tanner Banks made 25 appearances (five starts) with the Knights last season and went 3–3 with a 4.53 ERA (59.2 IP/70 SO). Banks, 30, was drafted by the White Sox in the 18th round of the 2014 MLB June Amateur Draft of out of the University of Utah.

LHP Hunter Schryver — much like Banks — spent the entire 2021 season with the Charlotte Knights. He finished second on the team in games pitched with 40. Overall for the year, he posted a 1–0 record with one save and a 4.98 ERA (43.1 IP/48 SO).

CATCHER
Carlos Pérez is one of three catchers this season to earn a non-roster invitation to White Sox Spring Training and the only one to have time with the Knights. Pérez, 25, spent the majority of 2021 with Double-A Birmingham (107 games), but appeared in four games with the Knights last year. With the Knights, he went 1-for-13 at the plate with two runs scored and a double.

INFIELDERS
INF Zach Remillard appeared in 82 games with the Charlotte Knights last season and launched 12 home runs — good for the third-best mark on the team behind Mikie Mahtook (26) and Jake Burger (18). He also had success on the base paths and led the Knights in stolen bases with 10. Additionally, he finished third on the club in walks (27) and tied for fourth in runs scored (40).
