Viva, Las Vegas!

Yes, I made it to Vegas. The person who never sleeps in the city that never sleeps. It’s a match made in heaven!

Despite the snow and ice in-and-around the Charlotte area, members of the Charlotte Knights front office staff made it safely to Vegas on Saturday night — a day earlier than originally planned.

An extra day in Vegas, yes please. It’s been a long time since I was last in Vegas (15+ years), but seeing this place almost feels like I never left.

Over the next few days, stay tuned to some of my photos, blogs, videos, interviews, and much more. I’m always so excited to take part in the Winter Meetings. No speeches for me this year, but don’t worry, there’s plenty to do in very little time.

As someone who grew up a huge baseball fan — and has now worked in a Minor League Baseball front office for 13 years — it’s a dream come true to do what I do.

To be here in the media room around some of the greatest media members in the history of the sport is something that still gets me every time. To be around Major League Baseball managers, players, and front office executives also gets me every time. After all these years, I still pinch myself to make sure this is reality.

Nobody ever said this job would be easy. The long hours in the summer, the missed time with my family (hardest part of all), and the hard work day in and day out is extremely rough — but it’s weeks like this one that put it all into perspective.

Stay tuned. It should be a fun week!

PS — Don’t worry, I found a place to get my daily espresso!
